KITAS Family visa (Kartu Izin Tinggal Terbatas, KITAS)

This visa can be obtained by a foreigner who is married to an Indonesian citizen, by their children, or by the spouse and children of the holder of a KITAS work visa with the 312 index.

Terms of issue

Validity for 5 years (with a mandatory annual extension) for those who have officially married an Indonesian citizen. In this case, the applicant can apply for a KITAP (Kartu Izin Tinggal Tetap, KITAP) after 3 years of holding a KITAS visa.

If a family KITAS is issued for the children and spouse of a foreigner working in Indonesia on a working KITAS, then the KITAS of his family members are issued for the same period as for this working KITAS holder.

Family KITAS for foreigners married to Indonesian citizens

There are 2 options for obtaining a family visa to Indonesia. Both options will provide you with a visa valid for one year and the possibility of renewing it annually for five years.

Converting a 211 type Social visa to a Family KITAS

This conversion can be done if the Indonesian spouse acted as a sponsor and was mentioned in type 211 social visa. The application must be submitted no later than 3 months before the expiration of the social visa. The applicant does not have to leave Indonesia to obtain this resident status, a KITAS card, and a re-entry permit.

A copy of the marriage certificate or other document issued by the Embassy confirming the marriage with an Indonesian citizen
